My counseling style

My counseling style aligns with who I am personally: deeply relational with a good mix of serious and lighthearted. I believe that having another bear witness to the most painful parts of our stories is like balm for our souls. And I believe laughter is, too. During our sessions, you will find a healthy dose of both.  Whatever it is that brings you to counseling, my priority is to provide a warm and welcoming environment for you to show up exactly as you are.

I understand that therapy is not one-size-fits-all, so I pull from a variety of techniques & modalities depending on your specific goals and needs. Most of my experience is in trauma-informed counseling, acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness approaches, faith-integrated therapy, attachment-based therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and person-centered therapy. In all of my work, there is a heavy emphasis on compassion and curiosity.

About Me

I'm Leslie Friday, a counselor and as human as they come. I have experienced firsthand the beauty and pain of life, and I consider it an honor to walk alongside others as they navigate the same. I’m originally from east Texas but my studies brought me to Austin back in 2008. Hook ‘em! In my free time, I enjoy being outside and getting sunshine, nature walks, pickleball, yummy food with even better company, riding bikes, playing volleyball, golfing (terribly), and anything that involves quality time with my family and friends. In 2022, I married my husband Damon - he is my favorite person in the world and the most interesting person I have ever met.  In 2024, we became parents to our beloved son and he is the absolute light of our lives!
